A total of 176 existing single family homes sold in Tallahassee in April 2011, down 11 percent from April of 2010 (197 sales).  And according to the Florida Association of Realtors, the local April median sales price was $154,700.  That's down five percent from April 2010 when the median was $163,000.

While condo sales increased slightly this April with 16 sales, compared to last April's nine, the median sales price dropped.  The median sales price for condos in Tallahassee is $65,000 versus $95,000 in April 2010.  The silver lining:  market conditions are great for investors picking up rental properties in the university areas.

Florida as a whole saw a two-percent increase in sales when compared to this time last year.
