Good news for several Tallahassee-area neighborhoods. Sidewalks are planned for 2015! The addition of sidewalks to any neighborhood can add value in a community that appreciates walkability and accessibility.
The completion of the second phase of the Centerville Road improvement (near Betton/Native Nurseries) is one of six sidewalk improvements scheduled for 2015. Bradford Road, from Meridian to Thomasville ($600,000) North Ridge Road, from Toucan to Creek ($575,000) Sixth Avenue/Gadsden Street, from Monroe to Ingleside ($800,000) Flipper Street, from Campbell to Okaloosa ($400,000) Lonnbladh Road, from Capital Circle to Eugene Bailey ($1.6 million). The city commission also approved $1million of funding for side walks on Magnolia Drive. With this funding the City is working with Leon County in an effort to provide pedestrian and bicycle connectivity on Magnolia Drive between Monroe Street and Apalachee Parkway.
